Pre-Capture

With an ordinary dashcam, by the time you tap REC the thing you wanted to film has already happened. Pre-Capture keeps the last seconds of road in memory while the app is open, 45 to start with and up to two minutes: the video you save starts before your tap.

Recording splits itself into 2-minute files, with no gaps in the video: if the phone switches off, at most you lose the piece in progress. Date and time, vehicle name, plate and GPS coordinates are burned into the frames, with an outline that keeps them readable on any background. After a phone call recording resumes by itself, with video only while the call lasts and then with audio again; the same happens when you come back to the app.

You can start it in a flash from Control Center, the Lock Screen or the Action button. The dark screen turns off the preview and lowers the brightness without stopping the recording. No account and no network: your videos stay on your iPhone. In English and Italian.
