Privacy notice

This is a translation of the Informativa privacy; if the two differ, the Italian version prevails.

Who processes the data

The data controller is Angelo Sasso, who you can contact at info@simplebuild.it.

Cookies

For visitors, this website uses no cookies, neither its own nor third-party ones, and loads no scripts, fonts or content from other services. That is why you see no consent banner.

Only people who sign in to the site's management area (the controller and the people he authorizes) receive two technical cookies: one for the work session, valid only on the address of the management area, and one used to not count their visits in the statistics. If they choose the light or dark theme of the panel, they also receive a third one that remembers the choice (it lasts one year and is valid only on the address of the management area).

If you choose the light or dark theme, or the robot in 2D or 3D, your browser remembers the choice in its local storage (localStorage), only on this device, to show it to you on the other pages and on your next visit. It is not a cookie, it is not sent to the server and it contains nothing that identifies you: you can delete it from your browser settings, together with the site data.

The website reads the preferred language set in your browser for one thing only: if you arrive from another website on an English page and your device prefers Italian, it takes you to the same page in Italian. It does not record it. The language of a page depends on its address (/it/… is in Italian), and with the IT · EN switch you can always choose the other one.

Contact form

If you write to me through the form, I collect your name, email, phone (if you give it), the service you are interested in, who or what you need it for, the timing you would like, the text of your message (if you write one) and the language of the page you used. I use them only to reply to your request and, if you wish, to prepare a quote: the legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Messages are stored on the website's server and in my mailbox for as long as needed to handle the request and any work that follows. They are not shared with anyone or used to send you advertising.

To protect the form from automated submissions, the server keeps for one hour an encrypted fingerprint of the network you write from, not your IP address.

Visit statistics

The site counts its own visits to understand which pages interest people. It uses no cookies for visitors and no external services, and it does not store IP addresses.

To tell visits apart on the same day, the server computes an encrypted fingerprint from your IP address and browser type with a secret key: it changes every day, is cut short and cannot be traced back to your IP address or to you. Together with it the site records the page, the time, the type of device (computer, tablet or phone), the language set on the device, the language in which you read the site, the type of program (a browser or, for example, a search engine) and the name of the site you came from, if any.

To distinguish people from automated programs, every page loads a small empty style sheet and, only after you scroll, tap or type, sends a short signal to this same site with how long the page stayed in the foreground. Pages that the browser downloads in advance only count if you actually open them.

The site also counts contact actions: tapping an e-mail address, sending a form and downloading a file. It records only the type of action and the page where it happened — never the phone number, the e-mail address or anything written in a form.

These records are kept for 400 days and then deleted; only monthly totals per page remain, which contain no fingerprint and refer to no one. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Only people who manage the site receive, when they sign in to its management area, a technical cookie used to not count their own visits. It contains only a signature and lasts 365 days.

Tutorial search

The words you type in the tutorial search either never leave your device or, if you press “Search”, reach the website's server only to show you the results: they are not saved.

Server logs

Like every web server, the one hosting the site records the requests it receives for security reasons, with IP address, date and requested page. These logs are rotated automatically and kept for a limited time. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in protecting the site (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Management area

The site's management area keeps a security log of sign-ins and operations: who signs in or tries to, with what outcome, what they change, from which IP address and with which kind of browser (for example "Safari on iPhone"). It concerns people who use that area, including anyone who tries to access it without authorization; visitors to the site do not appear in it. Passwords and access codes are never recorded. The log is kept on the website's server and is used to detect and reconstruct unauthorized access: the legal basis is the legitimate interest in protecting the site and the data it contains (Art. 6(1)(f)).

For how long: the operations of people who have signed in, with their IP address, are kept for 13 months. For failed attempts by people who did not get in (wrong password or code, blocked attempts, refused requests), the IP address is kept in clear for 30 days, so that the server's protection system (fail2ban) can temporarily block addresses that keep trying; after that only an encrypted, salted fingerprint of the address remains, from which it can no longer be recovered, while the rest of the record stays for 13 months like the others.

When an authorized person chooses a password, the server checks that it does not appear among those already stolen from other sites by sending the Have I Been Pwned service only the first 5 characters of an encrypted fingerprint of the password: neither the password nor the full fingerprint leaves the server.

Where the data is

The site is hosted on an OVHcloud server located in the European Union.
